BIOGRAPHY
Deepika Padukone was born in 1986 to a badminton champion father, Prakash Padukone and a travel agent mother. She first became passionate about the same sport as her father and participated in numerous competitions in India during her adolescence.
The young woman, however, was more interested in modeling than badminton and decided to get into the profession. Success very quickly came, Deepika becoming the muse of major brands. Bollywood finally spotted her in 2006, the year she entered the world of Indian cinema. The beautiful Deepika saw her notoriety skyrocket in her country the following year with her role as Shantipriya in Om Shanti Om . She plays two different women in this story of reincarnation.
The actress then enjoyed success in her country, starring in both blockbusters ( Race 2 ) and more intimate films ( Housefull ). Comfortable in all registers, from action to comedy to drama, Deepika became an adored star in India, filming with the biggest, notably the famous Shah Rukh Khan with whom she shared the spotlight several times ( Chennai Express , Happy New Year ).
This success attracted Hollywood, which set its sights on the sublime Indian in 2016 by offering her the role of Serena Unger in the action blockbuster Reactivated . The 30-year-old actress will star opposite the very muscular Vin Diesel .
