BIOGRAPHY
Since 1987, Mexican Luis Urquiza began working in television production and direction. In 2001, together with Lourdes García, he founded his own production company, Astillero Films, with which he has produced films such as Teo’s Journey (2008), directed by Walter Doehner, the biographical films directed by Antonio Serrano, Hidalgo: la untold story (2010) and Morelos (2012), the comedy Macho (2016), and the controversial film starring Juan Manuel Bernal, Obediencia Perfecta (2014), of which Urquiza was also the screenwriter and director, obtaining the Ariel award for best adapted screenplay. He has been director and editor of documentaries, as well as associate director and production director on the films Manos Libres (2005) by Pepe Buil, La Niña en la Piedra (2006) by Maryse Sistach and Chamaco (2009) by Miguel Necochea. Urquiza also produced and directed the short film Amor de madre (2006).
