BIOGRAPHY
The actress, dancer and vedette María del Rosario Mendoza, better known as Rossy Mendoza , was born on June 6, 1950 in Ixtlán del Río, Nayarit, Mexico. From a very young age she was admitted to a nuns’ school in Guadalajara and at nine years old she moved with her family to Ciudad Obregón, Sonora. Through a friend of hers, she had contact with a caravan of artists who performed there and began working as a presenter at the shows. Her physical attractiveness caused a sensation among audiences and producers alike, and it was with that caravan that she arrived in Mexico City, where she began working at the Teatro Lírico. She appeared in famous magazines and later participated in the television program Sabadito Alegre, hosted by Paco Malgesto. In 1971 she debuted on the big screen with the films Capulina Contra los Vampires and El Scoundrel . Among her latest projects are the films Cats on the Rooftops and Hard and Even in the Little House of Sin (1987). Rossy has not continued her career on television or in film.
